Our Story

Bodh Shawl Weavers traces its roots back to the late 1960s, when the foundation of this journey was quietly laid through traditional handloom practices in the Himalayan region.

In 1972, a defining milestone was marked when the formal foundation of Bodh Shawl Weavers was established by Mr. Paljor Bodh, along with his wife, not as a business driven by scale but as a commitment to craft.

The early years were not built on ease. They were shaped by persistence, working through limited resources, slower processes, and a time when handloom was valued for necessity, not recognition. What kept it moving forward was simple: consistency in quality and belief in the craft.

Over the years, this dedication gradually transformed into a network of skilled artisans and a body of work that stood the test of time.

Today, the legacy continues under the next generation, led by Mr. Ramesh Bodh, who brings a renewed vision while staying rooted in the same principles. The approach has evolved, but the core remains unchanged, respect for handloom, for the artisans, and for the process itself.

This is not just a continuation.
It is a responsibility carried forward.

Our Values

Himalayan Heritage
Natural Purity
Ethical Artistry

We are dedicated to preserving the centuries-old handloom techniques of the Kullu valley, ensuring that the rhythmic art of artisanal weaving thrives for generations to come.

Our textiles celebrate the organic integrity of sheep, yak, and angora wool. We avoid industrial dyes, working exclusively with the natural earth tones of the high-altitude fibers.

We empower our community of master weavers through fair-trade practices, providing a sustainable environment where traditional skill is respected and justly rewarded.

Meet the Artisans

Every piece begins with a person, not a process.

The artisans you see here represent just a part of a larger community of skilled weavers working across the Himalayas. Each one brings years of experience, patience, and a deep understanding of handloom craft.

Our role is simple, to support this ecosystem with steady work, fair value, and a platform where their craftsmanship is seen and appreciated. At the same time, we are committed to keeping this handloom tradition alive by creating real opportunities and consistent demand.

We believe this craft has far more potential than it’s given credit for. With the right support, more people can step into this space, not just to continue the tradition, but to build a sustainable future around it.
